Renewed Framework Assessments

The assessments have been designed to complement the Renewed Framework for mathematics from Year 1 to Year 6. The objectives which relate to each question of the assessments have been fully cross referenced to the APP guidelines grids.

They are designed with flexibility in mind; they will fit any curriculum format and they provide an ideal basis for the ASSESSING PUPILS' PROGRESS STRATEGY. They are diagnostic and designed to highlight strengths and gaps in children’s learning. As the headteacher of a primary school, I believe these assessments form vital evidence when making judgements about children’s levels. They are used very effectively at my school to support teachers’ judgements and they have been a great help, especially when implementing the APP Strategy.

The completed assessments can also be levelled using the ‘Guide to Levelling Table’ and this information can be used to effectively track children’s progress in maths. This tracking system has been highly praised by Ofsted for its simplicity and purpose.
